Understanding IELTS Writing Module
This module has two compulsory tasks both for Academic and General each focussing on a different skill. The topics in these tasks are of general interest and responses are expected in a formal manner.
Task 2 will be common for both the test seekers ( Academic & General )

Grammar | 25% | Accurate usage of Language & Grammar Use a variety of syntactic structures, tenses, and proper punctuation. Make error-free sentences . |

Task 1 (Academic) :
You are displayed a visual representation of data, such as a table, bar chart, line chart, process diagram, or map. Your motive is to describe, or explain the facts using your own words.It accounts for 33% of your writing scores.
Word limit : Minimum 150 words and must be written in whole
sentences without any bullet points or notes.
Duration: 20 – 25 Minutes

Task 1 (General) :
You will write a letter based on a day to day life scenario. This task evaluates your ability to communicate effectively in writing and requires you to use the appropriate tone based on the goal of the letter topic.
It accounts for 33% of your writing scores.
Word Limit: Minimum 150 words
Duration: 20 – 25 Minutes

Task 2 (General & Academic):
It is an essay writing module where you have to organise ideas in the form of opinion, argument, problems with a clear specific aspect on the topic . Follow the task instructions carefully (e.g., provide facts, outline solutions, justify opinions).
Word Limit: Minimum 250 words
Duration: 35 – 40 mins

Discuss both views / sides | Introduction: Provide background and paraphrase the question. Body: Discuss both perspectives with reasons/examples. Conclusion: Summarize the discussion and state your opinion. |

Important Tips for IELTS Writing task 2 :
- Understand the Topic: Prior to summarising the main topics, determine the question type, essential factors, and instructions.
- Create an outline: Before writing, that includes the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Use a few minutes to jot this down.
- With a good introduction, well-written body paragraphs, and a conclusion structure your essay in an organised manner.
- Provide examples to state your points with specific instances and proof.
- Making use of linking words and phrases to connect ideas will increase coherence.
- To enhance time management, practice essays in the allotted 35 - 40 minutes.
- Seek Feedback to get helpful analysis and make amendments, check your essays with peers or teachers.
